My Story – How My Journey Began

Welcome to my Blog!

Although I started my blog a few months ago I was setting up my new business and posting items from my website.   I would like to tell you how it all began and a little bit about myself.  I am a single parent in my fifties and have four children but only two left at home one boy now 20 in college and my daughter who turned 16 this summer. I had been laid off during the down turn in the economy and found it difficult to find employment.

My sister is a wonderful quilter and I would help her pick out her fabrics for her quilts.  We would have so much fun choosing beautiful fabrics for all her projects and often pick out more than she would always need. I would make trips to her house for a couple days at a time so I could iron all those beautiful fabrics while she would quilt. We had wonderful times looking at patterns, patting and wooing the fabrics in her quilting room.  I finally decided to try to make my own quilt.  I fell in love with quilting and I thought maybe I could start a business doing something I love to do.  That is when I came up with idea of cutting fabric for quilters.  I needed a job and it was a perfect idea.

So that is what I have been doing over the last number of months.  I really wanted to quilt but I just didn’t seem to have the time.  Then the urge to quilt became too overwhelming and I pulled out one of the three quilts that I had tucked away.  So begins my new journey as a business women and a quilter.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my sister Ellen, my mother Alice and my children for all the help and the support that was given to me.  Without them I could not have made this happen.

Thank you.
