Northcott Solids – Beautiful Fabric!
You will feel the difference – very soft premium quality fabric.
On a couple of occasions I was working with these solids and my daughter came up to talk to me. She would immediately reach out to touch the fabric I was using and would say ” mommy these fabrics are so soft”.
Northcott fabrics use a high thread count in their fabrics, they add an extra 10 threads per square inch making their fabrics very soft and yet very durable. Your child will love them and you will love them too. I carry a large selection of these solid for you to choose from.

Take a look at the beautiful Winding Ways quilt on the cover of the American Patchwork & Quilting magazine for February. Laura Boehnke was the designer of this quilt and she used the Accuquilt precut shapes to make this quilt so there was no need to use rotary cutting techniques or purchased templates. The great thing about using the precut pieces is all you have to do is sew. The Winding Ways precut pieces have easy match and sew notches to help you align your fabric pieces together. What makes this quilt super easy is that I put the pieces together using a Fons and Porter fabric glue stick. The glue stick is finer than the regular glue sticks and I did not have to use any pins. I tried pinning the pieces together and then tried sewing but I just could not get the pieces together, the pins were always in the way. I tried the glue stick and well, it was just so easy peasy! It was so unbelievable how easy it was to sew these curved pieces. I am a fairly new quilter and I had no problem once I used the glue stick. …okay my pieces are not perfect but I am very very happy with the way that they have turned out. I decided to make this quilt somewhat like the magazine using blue and neutral fabrics. I wanted to sew another block showing what the blocks would look like using neutrals for the center flower but wouldn’t you know it I lost my glue stick! I searched high and low but to no avail, now I only have the blue flower blocks to show you.
You can purchase these blocks in your choice of fabrics or I can cut them from the fabric in your personal stash.

It was my sons birthday today and he was given the honour of choosing the winner! Thank you to my son and Happy Birthday!
My sister had made me a lovely quilt called Lucky Stars and I use it on my green sofa! Yup my sofa is green…I know maybe it is too much but I do like the color and green it reminds me of being outside! I decided I wanted to make a cushion that would somewhat coordinate with the quilt. I decided to make the same pattern on the front of the cushion that was on the quilt. I used black and white and as I did not have the matching green I chose to use the Stonehenge Magnolia fabric. It looks like stained glass. Okay so it is not a perfect match but I am happy with it.
I did not have a pattern but I decided to follow the cover that I had on another cushion. It looked easy enough and the cushion just slipped in between the overlapping fabric in the back. I made this cushion so it would finish at 18” x 18” and the overlap in the back was about 5”. Such an easy project and no pattern required.
